During hours of normal operations, all persons may use the library facility, attend free programs, use library materials on the premises and request assistance from library staff. Individuals residing in, owning or renting real property in the City of Molalla and the employees of the City of Molalla are eligible for free borrowing privileges from the library as are residents of Clackamas, Multnomah and Washington Counties.
As a participant in the Library Information Network of Clackamas County (LINCC), any current resident of Clackamas County meeting residency requirements is eligible for a card. This card is accepted in all public libraries within Clackamas County. Materials may be checked out at any library in the county.
Cards may be issued to patrons not residing in the county, but use of such cards are restricted to the Molalla Public Library only. Non-residents may pay a fee of $75.00 per year for full county-wide library services.
OBTAINING A CARD: In order to obtain a library card an individual must present at least one piece of picture I.D., which has the current address of the applicant. If it does not have the current address, additional identification may be submitted at the discretion of the library staff member on duty.
You can not have fines, claims, returned or lost books outstanding at any library in the county. You must sign and complete a library card application form. If you are under 18 years of age, the card application must be signed by a parent or guardian and witnessed by the staff member on duty.
CARDHOLDER RESPONSIBILITIES: Library use is a privilege and not a right. The library reserves the right to refuse service to individuals who violate the library code of conduct or who have accumulated fines or other charges totaling $10.00 or more. The library may refuse to issue a new card to a family that has accumulated $20.00 or more in fines and fees.
The purpose of a library fine is to encourage the prompt return of library materials in order that others in the community may use them. Fines may be paid either by cash or check.
