WATER TREATMENT PLANT
Work is moving forward on the design of the City’s new water intake structure. Our engineering team has completed site studies, and crews recently conducted geotechnical investigations to evaluate subsurface conditions. The new intake structure will be constructed in a deeper part of the riverbank, which will help ensure a more reliable water supply—especially during the dry summer months. This investment strengthens our community’s long-term water resiliency and helps protect this essential resource for years to come.

WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
If you’ve driven along Highway 211 on the west side of Molalla recently, you’ve probably noticed that the new Wastewater Treatment Plant is really starting to take shape. Major concrete walls have been poured for the sequencing batch reactor and aerobic digesters, the core components of the new treatment system. These structures will play a key role in producing cleaner, higher-quality treated water than the current lagoon system, while using a substantially smaller overall footprint.
The new facility is designed with the future in mind. Its modular layout allows additional treatment capacity to be added when needed, helping the community avoid the cost and disruption of building an entirely new plant down the road. Construction is also progressing on the brick control building, which will house the biosolids treatment process and critical mechanical equipment, much of which is now being installed. The remainder of the building will include a new laboratory, offices, and equipment to support plant operations and monitoring. Interior work is well underway, with painting completed and lighting, outlets, trim, and cabinetry installed. While many detailed finishing tasks remain, the project is approaching the 50% completion mark. It’s exciting to see this important investment in Molalla’s future coming together.
