Police Services

The Molalla Police Department provides a wide range of services to the community. The following is a partial list of those services. To learn more, click on the links provided.


Police Public Records Request

Police reports can be requested in person, by mail or email. To request a copy of a police report or images, please fill out and submit a Police Public Records Request. Many reports and images are exempt per state law and any requests that are denied will state the reason and Oregon Revised Statute denial.

Molalla Police Department Community Room Application and Policy

The Molalla Police Department Community Room is available for limited community use. Reservation applications are subject to review and approval based on established policy. As the Department continues to settle into the new facility, Community Room use opportunities will be evaluated and expanded over time. Prior to submitting a Community Room Application, please review the Community Room Use Policy(PDF, 179KB).

Youth Mini-Scholarships: (Youth Fund Application(PDF, 119KB))

All the proceeds from property that becomes abandoned by law is put into the Youth Scholarship Fund. A parent or guardian can apply for one scholarship, per child, per school year. If a family has more than one child, an application may be completed each child. The student needs to be within the Molalla River School District Area. Funds are not always available. SERVICES

FINGERPRINTING

Fingerprint services to the public are available by appointment only. Appointments are available Tuesday - Thursday. To schedule call 503-759-0239. Note: there is a $25.00 fee for the first fingerprint card and $15.00 for each additional fingerprint card. Government photo I.D. is required.

EXTRA PATROL/AREA COMPLAINTS

If there is a concern about activity in a specific area or a residence with suspicious activity, please fill out the Extra Patrol Form. Be as specific as possible with the location, time of day, day of week, and any other relevant details.

If a residence will be vacant due to vacation or an extended absence, Extra Patrol Form. Every effort will be made to increase patrols in the area. Please note that while security cannot be guaranteed, observant neighbors are a very valuable resource for identifying out-of-the-ordinary activity.

RIDE-ALONG

Citizens interested in learning more about law enforcement and seeing a police officer at work are welcome to submit a Ride-Along Request form. Following a brief criminal history check, approved applicants may ride-along with an officer. Whether you're considering a career in law enforcement or simply curious, it's a truly unique experience.

Important note: One ride-along per person, per year.

RADAR TRAILER REQUESTS

Upon request, MPD can place the Radar Speed Observation trailer at any location inside the City limits. This trailer was donated to the MPD and is maintained and placed by a generous volunteer. It does not take photos, nor can it be used for issuing citations. It is to make driver's aware of their speeds in high complaint areas. To request please email: admin@molallapolice.com 

ALARM PERMITS

An alarm permit is required for all residential and business alarms within the city. Upon submission of an application, a permit will be issued and renewal notices sent out annually. There is no fee for residents 65 and older or government facilities. The initial and annual fee for a residence is $30, and $50 for a business.

SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATIONS

Sex offender registrations, including change of address and annual renewals, are accepted Monday through Friday during business hours. This service is available for Clackamas County residents only. Re-registration is required within 10 days before or after the date of change. Please note a valid photo ID and all required information must be presented, or the registration will not be completed. Registrations are processed by reception staff only.

LOST/FOUND PROPERTY

Release of found property by is done by appointment only. When someone turns in found property to the MPD, we try to locate the owner and notify them. If someone has lost items, please report them and check with the Property Officer to see if items have been turned in. After legal periods of advertisement and/or notifications, all unclaimed property is considered abandoned. Email property officer with questions or concerns. 


DMV INFORMATION

ACCIDENT REPORTS

Provided to you by the Oregon DMV to complete within 72 hours of an accident that is required to be reported. These forms can be found in the MPD lobby and are obtainable 24/7. Per Oregon law, they must be returned to any DMV by mail or in-person. Envelopes are provided for your convenience.

 

CHANGE OF ADDRESS

Per Oregon Law, an individual has 30 days to change the name or address on an Oregon Driver's License or ID card. These forms are located inside Molalla Police Department lobby which is open during normal business hours.

 

 

DRIVING MANUALS

We have Oregon Driver's Manuals, Commercial Driver's Manuals, Motorcycle Driver's Manuals, and Teen Driving Manuals. Manuals are located inside Molalla Police Department lobby (open during normal business hours).
