It provides an innovative and accessible alternative that expands public participation. Through a transparent digital hub, residents can: receive a monthly community newsletter; access project information; ask general questions; and provide feedback – all at their convenience. MOLALLA SECURES SIGNIFICANT GRANT FUNDING
Molalla has secured two new grants supporting important community projects, thanks to funding from the Office of Representative Janelle Bynum and Mt. Hood Territory (Clackamas County Tourism).
A $1.09 million grant from Representative Bynum’s office will help fund the City’s new Water Intake project, which is currently in the design phase. This investment represents a significant step forward in strengthening Molalla’s infrastructure for the future.
In addition, Molalla received a $45,000 grant from Mt. Hood Territory to fund a new cross-street banner holder system along North Molalla Avenue. Installation of the banner system is scheduled for this summer and will enhance the visual character and marketing efforts of the downtown commercial core.
These awards reflect the results of strong relationship-building efforts and thoughtful, strategic grant writing by Molalla City staff.
ANNUAL WATER QUALITY REPORT
The City of Molalla is pleased to share drinking water is safe and continues to meet or exceed all Federal and State requirements. Molalla's water is drawn from the Molalla River, several miles upstream of the city, and treated at the Water Treatment Plant. It serves a clean, protected watershed of approximately 203 square miles. With over 100 water quality standards monitored, any contaminants detected remain well below acceptable levels set by the State and EPA.
The full Annual Water Quality Report for Calendar Year 2025 is available at City Hall and online. We encourage all residents to review it and learn how you can help protect Molalla's waterways for generations to come.
WATER TREATMENT PLANT
The new intake design for the Water Treatment Plant is gaining momentum, with engineers and staff working together to map out operations and finalize the site layout, bringing this critical project another step closer to reality.
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
Drivers along Hwy. 211 on Molalla’s west side can view progress firsthand, as the crane returns to action on south side of the site. The Equalization Basin is now fully constructed, while the Sequencing Batch Reactor is just one catwalk away from structural completion. These tasks pave the way for the next phase of mechanical and electrical work. Meanwhile, the headworks facility near Hwy. 211 that will be attached to the sequencing batch reactor stands as the final major concrete structure yet to begin construction.
