Ability to earn 2% Incentive Pay 

The City of Molalla is seeking a full-time, represented, entry level Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator I. Under the direction of the Water Quality Superintendent and Wastewater Plant Operator – Lead, this entry level position assists in performing operation and maintenance duties and participates in all aspects of facility operation as it applies to municipal wastewater treatment.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Theories and principals of wastewater treatment plant operations.
• Federal and state laws governing the National Pollution Discharge Elimination System.
• Personal computers and related software applications.
• Applies theories of hydraulics and electricity to diagnose problems and make repairs.
• Ability to record operations and laboratory data and interpret process control trends.
• Ability to promote positive public relations and provide good customer service.
• Effectively communicate and interact cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and the general public to complete projects.

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to use biology, algebra, chemistry and laboratory technology.
• Wastewater Treatment I certification, or ability to obtain within 24 months of hire
• Valid Oregon driver’s license

Preferred :

• Associate of Science Degree in Water or Wastewater Treatment Technology
