A recent scamming effort has targeted applicants to city land use decisions, infrastructure projects, and other city business with illegitimate fee collection requests. Be wary of fee requests in excess of what Molalla City Staff has conveyed to you and reach out to our staff directly if you receive any payment requests that look suspicious. The City will NEVER request a wire payment.
Business License renewals start in November. An invoice will be sent to all Business License holder’s mailing addresses and emails on file. If you need to update your information, please see the Business License Application on our website, and select “Update your License Information” on the application.
All new commercial and industrial tenants in Molalla are required to obtain a Change of Use/Occupancy permit when starting at a new location. The “use” deals with planning and zoning code, the “occupancy” deals with building and fire code. Planning staff will assess your application, consult with Clackamas County Building Codes and the Molalla Fire District, then provide you with an approval that will either be final or spell out the additional process you need to complete prior to making use and occupying the site the way you have proposed.
