Molalla's Park CPC Planning Efforts

The Parks Community Program Committee (CPC) was established by the Molalla City Council in 2019 to promote community involvement in parks planning and development. The committee engaged residents through volunteer opportunities and fundraising initiatives, working to align park improvements with the Molalla Area Vision and Action Plan 2020–2030(PDF, 5MB).

Notable CPC Contributions

Over approximately four years, the Parks CPC raised $11,557.87 in gap funding through community fundraising efforts. The committee’s volunteer work contributed to several significant community projects, including: Fox Park playground equipment, Strawberry Park design, Clark Park Pavilion, and Chief Yelkus Park.

The Parks CPC operated without a dedicated Parks Maintenance Fee, relying instead on community fundraising and donations to support Molalla’s parks and recreational spaces.

Parks Community Program Committee Status

The Parks Community Program Committee (CPC) has been temporarily suspended by Molalla City Council action, effective September 24, 2025. The City Council voted unanimously to suspend the Parks CPC until the committee is needed for future parks initiatives.

Past Parks CPC meeting agendas and minutes remain available for public review. The City of Molalla thanks all past Parks CPC members for their dedicated service to our community.

Community Partnerships

The Parks CPC’s accomplishments would not have been possible without the generous support of community partners and sponsors whose commitment to Molalla made these park improvements a reality.

Special Recognition: The City of Molalla extends its deepest gratitude to Molalla Communications Company for their exceptional and continued support of our community. Their generous contributions made possible numerous projects including the playground replacement at Fox Park, the Pickleball Court at Long Park, the Clark Park Pavilion, Strawberry Park, Chief Yelkus Park, and much more. Their ongoing commitment and generosity exemplify community partnership at its finest.

Additional Community Partners:

  • Knife River – Contributions toward the pickleball court at Long Park
  • Ford Family Foundation – Partnership support for parks projects
  • B&B Specialties – Collaborative partnership efforts
  • Local Business Community – Support of Parks CPC fundraising events
  • Molalla Residents – Countless volunteers and donors who invested in our community’s present and future

The Parks CPC’s success was built on the foundation of these partnerships and the dedication of residents who recognized the importance of creating quality recreational spaces for current and future generations. The City of Molalla is grateful for every contribution, large and small, that helped shape our community’s parks.
