The City of Molalla is seeking a full-time, non-represented Community Development Assistant under the supervision of the Assistant City Manager. The Community Development Assistant performs a wide variety of administrative duties in support of the Assistant City Manager and Community Development Department. Responsible for providing analytical and specialized administrative support to Planning, Public Works, Engineering, Building Maintenance, and Code Enforcement personnel. Work requires strong organization, great attention to detail, and independent judgement in the application of regulations and established procedures of the Community Development Department. Work is generally of a critical, sensitive, or confidential nature.

The successful candidate will exhibit a professional attitude, demonstrate the ability to take direction from a superior, enjoy working with the public and take pride in their work.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma required.
- 3 years of experience relevant to the description of this position is required.
OR
- The City will consider applicants with any combination of education and experience that illustrates qualification for this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience navigating digital platforms or permitting software.
- Highly evolved verbal, written, and digital communication skills.
- Strong ability to work with the public and de-escalate confrontational situations at the service counter.
- Clear understanding of modern office practices, records management, and equipment.
- Self-starter capable of managing a diverse workload with competing priorities for multiple divisions.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
- Advanced time management and prioritization skills.
- Sound independent judgment.
