REQUIREMENTS:

To be considered, candidates must be free of any acts that would adversely reflect on their fitness to perform their duties as a police officer. Must be of good moral character and understand that any acts that reflect dishonesty, deceit, or misrepresentation adversely reflects on their fitness to perform their duties as a police officer. Must have physical strength, stamina, and agility to sufficiently perform the duties of this position.

Candidates must be U.S. citizens, have no felony convictions, be at least 21 years of age, have as a minimum a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, and a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Candidates must have the ability to successfully complete a thorough background investigation, post-offer psychological and medical examination, including pre-employment drug screen. Ideal candidates will be individuals who have a proven track record of being honest, objective, hard-working, able to communicate effectively, and are customer service oriented.

Recruit Selection & Notification Process

The Molalla Police Department offers full testing services for the position of police officer through National Testing Network Inc. To fill out an application and schedule testing, please visit nationaltestingnetwork.com, select Law Enforcement and sign up for the Molalla Police Department. Previous ORPAT scores accepted up to six (6) months old.

 

Lateral Selection & Notification Process

Lateral candidates are not required to test through National Testing Network or complete the ORPAT test.

To qualify as a lateral applicant, you must be certified as a basic police officer. Oregon’s Department of Public Safety Standards & Training (DPSST) maintains authority to determine acceptable lateral transfer of out-of-state certification to Oregon.


SELECTION & NOTIFICATION PROCESS: 

Candidates selected for further consideration will be scheduled for an interview at a later time.
