First Time Offender Traffic School Deferred Sentencing Program

First-time offenders who have had no moving violation convictions on their driving record in the last five (5) years and do not carry a commercial driver’s license (CDL).
 
If first-time offenders elect to participate in the Traffic School Deferred Sentencing Program, they do so with the understanding that they will be entering a no contest plea and that the full amount of the fine will be assessed if the program criteria are not met.
 
The court will defer the citation court date two (2) months to allow time to complete the program.

Traffic Safety School Information
Eligibility Required

 

Class: Available online only. Contact court staff for registration information.

Hours: The class is online and available 24/7.

Registration: Online registration and payment must be completed prior to attending the class.

Cost: There is a separate fee imposed by the court which will need to be paid by the deadline date on the registration form. The court fee is $50.00 less than the presumptive fine.

  • Once the class has been completed and all fees paid, the defendant will receive a completion certificate, of which, it is the defendant's responsibility to provide to the court.
  • Certificate can be emailed to the court staff: court@cityofmolalla.com. (Please include your full name, date of birth and/or case number in the email.
  • Upon court staff receipt of the certificate, the citation will be dismissed, and the court case will be closed.

Failure to complete course within the allowed timeframe will result in the conviction being reported to the DMV, and the full presumptive fine assessed.  Any money already paid towards the court fee will be applied towards the presumptive fine amount. Defendant will be mailed notice of failure to comply and ordered to appear in court unless the remaining amount of the presumptive fine is received prior to the appear date.  

 

It is the Defendant’s responsibility to register online and pay the fees; the court is only responsible for providing the information to do so.
There are NO “Reminder Notices” sent.
